Book Bunch & Lunch (Grades K-5) Wednesdays, 12-1pm June 13 - July 26 Bring a sack lunch to eat while we read from the children’s book of our time, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling. (A great way to prepare for ExpectoCon 2018, happening in August!) After lunch, we’ll do crafts and activities inspired by the book. At our final meeting, we’ll watch the movie! Registration is required.

We’re giving away free books this summer at Springtree Apartments (located at Maywood Avenue & Amherst Road in Middleton.) See below for directions. Visit the Middleton Public Library Outreach Librarian and Sauk Trail Elementary School Librarian at Springtree Apartments on July 18 from 5:30-7pm to choose some free books to keep! All Middleton students in grades K-4 are invited. DIRECTIONS: If coming from Sauk Trail Elementary on Branch Street, at stop sign make a right onto Maywood Avenue from Branch Street and go .2 miles. Look for us at the playground, which is on the left just past Amherst Road and in the middle of a cluster of apartments. If coming from Allen Boulevard, go .1 miles towards 6300 Maywood Avenue and the playground is on the right in the middle of a cluster of apartments. Dungeons and Dragons for ‘Tweens (Grades 3-6) Wednesdays, June 13 - July 25, 6:30-8:00pm Join the adventure! Team up to battle the forces of evil in this classic role-playing fantasy game. All levels—including beginners—are welcome! We'll meet six Wednesdays in a row. Registration is required - space is limited to 6 so please be sure you can make all or most of the meetings. Registering for the June 13 date signs you up for the entire 6 week series. No meeting July 4.

‘Tween Introduction to Reading Music (Ages 8-12) Tuesdays, 1-2pm: July 10, July 17, July 24 Even if you’ve never played an instrument before, by the end of the summer, you’ll be able to read Treble Clef notes and play a simple song on the piano. Registration is required – space is limited.

Cool off this summer by visiting the Middleton Public Library at the Splash Pad in Lakeview Park! (6300 Mendota Ave. & Allen Blvd) Sign up for Summer Reading, get a library card, or choose a free book. We will bring hula-hoops, sidewalk chalk, and a surprise craft activity (while supplies last). The Splash Pad is a free, outdoor sprinkler park in Lakeview Park in Middleton. Look for us under the large pavilion or near the Splash Pad. (Weather permitting.)

Visit the Middleton Public Library at this year's National Night Out annual event at Lakeview Park from 5:30-7:30pm. We'll bring a lot of books about first responders, emergency vehicles, police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and more! Don't forget to bring your library card. Visit staff from the Middleton Public Library, Elm Lawn Elementary School, Northside Elementary School, and Kromrey Middle School at Parkside Heights Park on August 8 from 1-2:30pm to choose free books to keep and to play in the park! All Middleton students in grades K-12 are invited! Parkside Heights Park is located at 3201 Northbrook Drive in Middleton, just off Donna Drive, two blocks from Kromrey Middle School. Bring your little sprouts to the Greenway Station Playdate Series held a the Greenway Station Farmers’ Market on Thursday, August 9 between 8-1pm for the third event in the Greenway Station Playdate Series! Once a month (June through October), the Greenway Station Playdate Series will host different partners who will provide a variety of free activities for kids. Make sure to visit the Middleton Public Library at Greenway Station on August 9, and again on September 13 from 8-1pm for book checkout (and some free ones too), outdoor toys to play with, and simple crafts to try. Other Greenway partners will provide lots of fun free offerings too. Trivia Challenges Thursday, August 16 ‘Tweens (grades 3-6), 6-7pm Teens (grades 7-12), 7:15-8:15pm Do you know your Wingardia Leviosa from your Bezoar Stone? Show off your Potterworld knowledge at the PotterFest Trivia Challenges! Contestants may be competing for awesome prizes, but the audience members will have just as much fun! Registration is required – number of contestants is limited. Please register for the appropriate age group: ‘tweens (grades 3-6) or teens (grades 7-12). Costumes welcome!

Potter Parade (All ages) Friday, August 17, 2pm Take a walk on the Potter-side of the street! Any & all Potter- inspired costumes, decorated strollers, signs, and posters are welcome. Marchers will gather in the Storytime Room at 1:45pm. Parade will wind through the Main Level of the library. Refreshments to follow. Kids under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
