Part of our Wellness Wednesdays miniseries of classes focusing on mental and emotional health! Author and counselor Pamela Phillips Olson offers inspiring and entertaining life stories from her book, Lechayim Lunch: Ingredients for a Good Life, a collection of life stories based on interviews with four dozen strong and incredible individuals, many of them "ordinary" people with extraordinary stories, whom she met while volunteering at a Dane County lunch site for senior citizens. Pam is a licensed clinical social worker and counselor and who has worked in the Madison area for over 30 years. Thus far, her love of her work has prevented her from retiring. Praise for Lechayim Lunch: "When deep listening, story-telling and genuine caring combine, rare glimpses of heartfelt connection with an incredibly wide range of humanity are produced. Reading these beautiful short vignettes of fully lived lives connects us to others and so widens our circles of compassion. A heart-warming experience!" --Richard J. Davidson, co-author of the New York Times besteller The Emotional Life of Your Brain and founder of the Center for Healthy Minds at UW-Madison. "Good health includes social as well as physical and mental well-being. Too often we neglect this important side of our lives. Pam's book points us in the right direction. It nourishes us with stories that go right to our soul. Stories that strike an emotional chord are ones that can change our lives. It's a great read." --Dr. Zorba Paster, host of "Zorba Paster on Your Health" public radio show.
