CANCELLED--Wisconsin Farms and Farmers Markets

Tuesday, June 14, at 6:30pm    Add this event to your calendar
Location: In the downstairs Archer Room (through the lobby stairwell)
(event is over)

Dane County is home to the country's largest producers-only farmers market and surrounded by farmland, a mix of family-owned farms dating back many generations and young couples living the farming dream. This includes harvesting or producing vegetables, wine grapes, fruit, meat, cheese, beer and animal fibers.

Many come from other states, drawn by the possibilities to farm in Wisconsin. How can we support these farms? Visiting farmers markets, farm stays, pizza farms, farm dinners, vineyards, CSAs and U-pick days are a few opportunities. Come to hear inspiring stories about unique and vibrant farm ventures across the state from Kristine Hansen, author of Wisconsin Farms and Farmer's Markets: Tours, Trails, and Attractions.

Wisconsin-based travel and food writer, Kristine Hansen, is the author of Wisconsin Farms and Farmer's Markets: Tours, Trails, and Attractions and the Wisconsin Cheese Cookbook: Creamy, Cheesy, Sweet, and Savory Recipes from the State's Best Creameries. Kristine is also a regular contributor to a number of publications, including Midwest Living and Milwaukee magazines, CountryLiving.com, FoodNetwork.com, and Travel & Leisure.

Books will be available for sale and signing after the program.
