It's 1935 and 12 year old Moose moves with his family to Alcatraz Island where his dad works at Alcatraz prison. 

The convicts we have are the kind other prisons don't want. I never knew prisons could be picky, but I guess they can. You get to Alcatraz by being the worst of the worst. Unless you're me. I came here because my mother said I had to.”

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

**This is not an in person event**

Register here for the at home self-paced 1000 Books Before Kindergarten reading program.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten encourages family time and promotes early literacy through reading. The simple and enjoyable act of reading to children helps them learn pre-reading skills such as phonetic awareness and vocabulary building. 

Registration includes a keepsake 1000 Books Before Kindergarten journal, stickers for each 100 books read, early literacy information and more! 

Registration Required. Journals will be available beginning January 15th.

Nat fell in love with synchronized swimming after seeing a synchronized routine by the LA Mermaids. Now, it's all she wants to do. But, her parents don't think that synchronized swimming sends the right message, believing it focuses too much on looks and being thin. But, Nat is determined to prove she has what it takes, no matter what her body looks like.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

**This is not an in person event**

Register here for the at home self-paced 1000 Books Before Kindergarten reading program.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten encourages family time and promotes early literacy through reading. The simple and enjoyable act of reading to children helps them learn pre-reading skills such as phonetic awareness and vocabulary building. 

Registration includes a keepsake 1000 Books Before Kindergarten journal, stickers for each 100 books read, early literacy information and more!

Paradox Robotics (All Ages)

Saturday, February 28 @ 10:30am

First Tech Challenge (FTC) team Paradox, made up of kids from the Middleton area, will present about STEM, robotics, and ways for the youth to be involved in robotics. Team Paradox will also host an interactive demonstration with their competition robot and discuss their nonprofit initiative WiscoSTEM. The team is a part of a worldwide robotics competition and consists of members who have competed with different teams at the local, regional, and state level and are all extremely passionate about robotics.

Join artist Meghan Rosing on the main level of the library for a drop-in “Scrapwork” event utilizing paper and fabric scraps to create colorful art.  This all-ages activity offers the opportunity to use templates or to design your own creations.  No registration is necessary.
