We’re giving away free books!  

Stop by Parkside Heights Park on June 29 and July 27 between 1-2:30pm to choose some free books to keep!  All Middleton Cross Plains School District students in grades K-12 are invited.

Parkside Heights Park is located at 3201 Northbrook Drive in Middleton, just off Donna Drive and two blocks from Kromrey Middle School.

Look for librarians from Elm Lawn, Northside, Kromrey, Middleton High School and the Middleton Public Library near the playground.

PLEASE NOTE: Masks recommended. No services available. Weather permitting.

The Middleton Public Library is going to the parks this summer! 

Today's visit will be held at Stone Horse Green in downtown Middleton. 

All visits will offer Summer Reading Program sign up. Participants can choose free books and a take and make craft activity (while supplies last). Plus, make sure you check out the Middleton Park and Recreation Department's special activity! 

Mask wearing is recommended when visiting the library table.

Lakeview Park Splash Pad (6300 Mendota Ave): Monday from 1:30-3pm on August 23. Look for the library under or near the large pavilion. 

Harvey John and Lucille Taylor Park (5280 Bishops Bay Pkwy): Wednesdays from 10-11am on August 4, 11, and 18. Look for the library near the pavilion.

The Middleton Community Development Authority (CDA), in conjunction with the City of Middleton, is pleased to announce Downtown Middleton Summer Fun. There will be entertainment at Stone Horse Green at 7550 Hubbard Avenue in Downtown Middleton every Thursday from 6 pm to 8 pm throughout the summer months. The Middleton Arts Committee will also be sponsoring a free arts and crafts table for children. There are picnic tables on the green, and feel free to bring a chair or picnic blanket to enjoy the fun.

The Middleton Public Library will join in the fun on July 15, July 29, August 12, and August 26, weather permitting.

The following acts have been scheduled to play at the Stone Horse Green in July and August:

• July 1st: Moldy Jam
• July 8th: Madison Shakespeare
• July 15th: Slipjig
• July 22nd: The Tooles
• July 29th: Too Sick Charlie
• August 5th: Middleton Jazz
• August 12th: Ken Lonnquist
• August 19th: Blue Spruce
• August 26th: Mackenzie Moore

There will be a one-block street closure starting at the intersection of Hubbard Avenue and Parmenter Street to create a pedestrianized area for the event. The closure will take effect at 5pm and end at 9 pm. The City of Middleton encourages visitors to use one of the off-street public parking lots just a few steps from Stone Horse Green.




Friday July 30   
 

Join staff from the Middleton Public Library at the Middleton Senior Center (7448 Hubbard Ave.) on Friday, July 30 at 12:30pm for a presentation on how to use the library catalog, how to place holds on items, and how to check your library record. Bring your questions!

This free presentation is for seniors and advanced registration is required. Contact the Middleton Senior Center at 608-831-2373 to register.

Need a library card? Bring a photo ID to get one at this training.  There will also be a small collection of computer themed books to borrow.

 




Tuesday August 3

Sauk Trail Elementary school is located at 2205 Branch Street in Middleton.

Look for the Sauk Trail School Librarian and the Middleton Public Library on the grassy area in front of the school entrance.

2. Only one family at the library table at one time. 

3. Those waiting to visit the library table should social distance at least 6ft from each other AND the library table. If social distancing is not possible while waiting in line to visit the library table, please wear a mask.

This event focuses on persons with disabilities and their families & caregivers being able to explore the pool. Assistive devices will be permitted if needed to be able to participate! This special event is FREE for persons with disabilities and their families/caregivers.

Visit the Middleton Public Library at the Walter R. Bauman Aquatic Center for Park & Recreation's annual Little Splasher's Pool Party!

Join us for a splash of fun at the Walter R. Bauman Aquatic Center on Tuesday, August 17 from 10am-12pm! This special event is for little splashers, age 8 and under, along with their adult caretakers to have the pool to themselves. No big kids allowed! Admission is $4/person and all persons under eight must be accompanied into the water by someone 16 years of age or older.

The Middleton Public Library will bring lots of free books and a take and make activity for attendees to keep! (while supplies last)

Middle School students will have full use of the pool just for themselves! Join us for an evening of swimming, activities, and music. Proceeds will benefit the Middleton Youth Center. Open to those in grades 5-8 from 6-8pm on Thursday, August 19. Please note this event is ONLY for Middle Schoolers, and the pool will be closed to all others. 

The Middleton Public Library will bring lots of free books and movies for attendees to keep! (while supplies last)

Admission is $4/person.

Saturday September 18   
 

Visit the Middleton Public Library at this year's Cops and Bobbers event held at Lakeview Park (6300 Mendota Ave). Hosted by the Middleton Optimist Club, this FREE event is fun for the whole family. 

First 150 kids age 15 and under receive a free fishing rod, reel & bobber or bring your own fishing gear if you have it! Fun contests & prizes including BIG & Little fish contest & more. 

Visit the library's table to choose a free book (while supplies last).  Weather permitting.
