Bring your little sprouts to the Greenway Station Playdate Series at the Greenway Station Farmers’ Market on Thursday, June 20 between 9-10:30am for this free, family-friendly event! Each month through October, there will be a variety of fun and free activities for families to enjoy brought to you by Greenway Station, Madison Moms Blog, and the Middleton Public Library! June's theme is "Pete the Cat"! At 9:30am, Miss Lori will lead a fun storytime (no in-library Storytimes today) followed by a themed craft activity. The Madison Moms Blog will also offer a fun Kiddie Kibble Snack activity at this event! The Middleton Public Library will have books for checkout and a variety of outdoor toys to explore and play with too. Pokemon Go Walking Club (All ages) Thursdays, 2-3pm June 13 – Aug 1 [no meeting July 4] Do you know how many Pokestops and Pokemon Gyms are located in downtown Middleton? Loads! Join Ms. Lori as we walk around Middleton catching Pokemon, spinning Stops, and battling in Gyms. We’ll meet in front of the library. Kids under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Friday June 21   
 
Join the Middleton Public Library at Park & Rec's second annual International Day of Yoga event at Parisi Park! The International Day of Yoga event aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga. There will be a free yoga class for kids at 11am followed by art projects and kindness activities. From 11:30-1pm, the Middleton Public Library will be at the event and will have a variety of books about yoga to borrow. Don't forget your library card or get one at the event! Parisi Park is located at 2405 Park Street. 10am Mindful walk (through Parisi and on the PBC trail). Followed by a guided meditation in the park. 11am Kids yoga class with Valerie Koschnick 11:30am-1pm Art projects, kindness activities and the Middleton Public Library Outreach. 1pm ACCESSIBLE FLOW YOGA (BREATH, FLOW & HEAL) Facilitated by the Middleton Recreation Yoga Instructors. This class is designed specifically for students who want or need a gentler style class. Yoga postures can be done in many ways making it a yoga class for ALL levels of physical ability. This class is appropriate for those with chronic health issues, those with limited range of motion or those who have difficulty getting up and down from the floor, or for those who truly want to customize a unique practice in the body you have today. All bodies should have access to the practices of yoga, personal empowerment and spiritual connection. 2pm “Ask an Asana” Q&A about yoga and yoga poses for a 1/2 hour. This event is FREE. We just ask you to bring your own mat. Don’t have a mat? That’s okay, bring a towel instead. (We would also suggest bringing your picnic lunch.) Colossal Fossils (All ages) Friday, June 21, 2pm Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of dinosaurs and Ice Age mammals. Presented in a show-and-tell format, many of the fossils are passed around during the program and, for anything too big to pass around (T. rex jaws, for example), people are invited to come up after the program to touch these amazing discoveries.

Join the Middleton Public Library at the Bock Community Garden (5606 Highland Way in Middleton) on Sunday, June 23 from 6-7pm for their Summer Learning Series! These classes are FREE and open to the public. BUGS IN THE GARDEN (ages 4-12) Show appreciation for the diversity of insects found in the garden! Special guest, Jacki Whisenent, will help us observe, classify and illustrate insects found inside the Bock Community Children’s Garden! Jacki holds a Master’s certificate in Science Illustration from the University of California - Monterey Bay and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Entomology at UW-Madison. Join us in the garden as we’re introduced to new insects! The library will bring a variety of books on gardening, pollinators, flowers, insects, vegetables, etc., so don't forget to bring your library card! The Bock Community Garden is located at 5606 Highland Way in Middleton. PLEASE NOTE: The Bock Community Garden is accessible for wheelchairs and strollers, however trails within garden are unpaved. Bike rack available at one of the garden entrances. Dogs are not permitted. Parental supervision of children is required at all times. No bathroom facilities on site. Street parking only. Tuesday, July 9, 1pm - Ink Drop Tile Coasters ‘Tweens will have an opportunity to create a set of 4 coasters using an “ink-dropping” effect. Each one of these special pieces are unique and SO FUN to make! Heather will teach the ‘tweens a few different techniques that they will be able to incorporate in their own process art coasters.

Pokemon Go Walking Club (All ages) Thursdays, 2-3pm June 13 – Aug 1 [no meeting July 4] Do you know how many Pokestops and Pokemon Gyms are located in downtown Middleton? Loads! Join Ms. Lori as we walk around Middleton catching Pokemon, spinning Stops, and battling in Gyms. We’ll meet in front of the library. Kids under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Everyone must use his or her own device. Registration and signed waiver are required. Adults & Teens Welcome!

Whilst helping your astronomy professor (known only as The Doctor) with research on the cosmos, your team has uncovered evidence of a new planet - evidence your team is set to reveal at a press conference in one hour. There's just one problem: your professor has vanished without a trace - along with the evidential data! Can you sift through The Doctor's notes to find your missing professor and the data before the press conference begins? Or will The Doctor and the planet be lost to the universe forever? (6300 Mendota Ave. & Allen Blvd) All visits will take place on Mondays, June 17 through August 5, from 9:30-11:30am. Sign up for Summer Reading, get a library card, or choose a free book. We will bring a variety of outdoor toys and a surprise craft activity (while supplies last). The Splash Pad is a free, outdoor sprinkler park in Lakeview Park in Middleton. Look for us at the picnic tables under the large pavilion.

Tween Mystery Night: A Summer Camp Mystery (Ages 9-12) Monday, August 5, 6-7pm Camp Ana-waka-weeeble-wobble-rama-lama-ding-dong is having a talent show, but something awful has happened to the judge! Everyone will have a role to play - you might even be the culprit! Analyze the clues, interrogate the suspects…and solve the mystery! Registration is required – space is limited to 16 suspects...I mean, participants.

Visit the Middleton Public Library at the annual National Night Out event held at Lakeview Park from 5:30-7:30pm. We'll bring fun activities for kids to enjoy, plus lots of books to borrow about first responders, emergency vehicles, police officers, firefighters, and paramedics to borrow! We’re giving away free books this summer! Visit staff from the Middleton Public Library, Elm Lawn Elementary School, Northside Elementary School, and Kromrey Middle School at Parkside Heights Park on July 9 and August 13 from 1-2:30pm to choose free books to keep and to play in the park! All Middleton students in grades K-12 are invited! Parkside Heights Park is located at 3201 Northbrook Drive in Middleton, just off Donna Drive, two blocks from Kromrey Middle School. Join the Middleton Public Library at the children's garden at the Bock Community Garden onon Sunday, August 18 from 6-7pm for their Summer Learning Series! These classes are FREE and open to the public. Classes are recommended for young gardeners, ages 4-12. Learn why pollinators are crucial to growing healthy gardens, learn the basic anatomy of a flower, how a plant is pollinated, and what occurs after pollination. Special guest, Jacki Whisenent will help us identify some pollinators inside the Bock Children’s Garden. Learn what you can do in your own yard or community to encourage healthy, happy pollinators! The Middleton Public Library will bring a variety of books on gardening, pollinators, flowers, vegetables, etc., so don't forget to bring your library card! The Bock Community Garden is located at 5606 Highland Way in Middleton. PLEASE NOTE: The Bock Community Garden is accessible for wheelchairs and strollers, however trails within garden are unpaved. Bike rack available at one of the garden entrances. Dogs are not permitted. Parental supervision is required at all times. No bathroom facilities on site. Street parking only. Event will be cancelled in case of inclement weather.

Bring your little sprouts to the Greenway Station Playdate Series at the Greenway Station Farmers’ Market on Thursday, August 22 between 9-10:30am for this free, family-friendly event! There will be a variety of fun and free activities for families to enjoy brought to you by Greenway Station, Madison Moms Blog, and the Middleton Public Library! The theme for August is “Out of this World Playdate" and the Madison Moms Blog has a great selection of activities lined up such as Outerspace Story with Engineering for Kids, Rocket Launch with Engineering for Kids, and a Reach for the Stars Craft. The Middleton Public Library will also have books for checkout and a variety of outdoor toys to play with.
