Thursday April 25   
 

Join the Middleton Public Library at the annual Middleton Youth Center Cultural Showcase on Thursday, April 25 from 5-6:30pm. Location: Kromrey Middle School cafeteria. Please enter through the main entrance.

Youth Center students and families will share their cultures through music, food, clothing, dance, language, and more. Help our students to celebrate diversity and foster respect and openness toward other cultures!

Performances will begin at 5:30pm.

Parents, siblings, friends, and community members are all welcome to attend!

 




Saturday April 27   
 

This family-friendly event includes free admission, live music, a bounce house, electric bicycles to try out, free popcorn, free drawings, and activities for kids, as well as dozens of exhibitors, speakers, and an electric vehicle show (including Teslas you can test drive)! 

This year there will be a zoo animal shows and professional face painting in the afternoon. Lunch & ice cream will be available for purchase from local food trucks.

Kids can visit the Middleton Public Library's table to choose a free book (while supplies last!)

'Tween Book Club: El Deafo

Monday, May 20 @ 6pm

Cece, who is deaf, has always gone to a school with other deaf students. Now, she's going to a new school, wear her giant hearing aid really sticks out. When she discovers that her hearing aid allows her to hear her teacher no matter where they are at school. Cece finally feels like this gives her a way to fit in, only to learn that maybe having this power is just another thing that makes her stick out.

Celebrate the beginning on Summer Reading with a vibrant live show featuring an 8-piece mariachi band! Immerse yourself in the magic of mariachi as the artists share their music, and the history and relevance of mariachi. 

This program will take place primarily in Spanish, with the support of an English interpreter to ensure a great time for all attendees.

This event will take place in the green space across the street from the library.

Book Bunch & Lunch: The Last Kids on Earth (Grades 2-7)

Tuesdays, June 11 - July 16th

Bring your lunch and join Ms. Katie as we read The Last Kids on Earth  battling zombie hordes, winged wretches, and the dreaded vine thingies along the way! Thirteen-year-old Jack has been surviving in his tree house since the apocalypse began, but he quickly learns he can't do it on his own. Can his newly formed team of his dorky best friend, the old school bully, the fiercest girl Jack knows, and his pet monster Rover beat the odds and destroy the terrifying Blarg?

Please note this book contains some fantasy violence and scenes that may be scary for younger audiences. 

Each week will include an activity based on that week's readings. The final week will conclude with a live-streamed interview with the author Max Brallier.

Registration Required. Registration for first week registers you for all future weeks.

All ages are welcome! It's recommended that kids under 10 have an adult there to help, and required for those 8 and younger.
